BIOGRAPHY AND RESEARCH IMPACT
I'm a researcher at the Centre for Crop and Disease Management, where I work on the genomics of fungal plant pathogens. My work combines long-read sequencing, comparative genomics, and bioinformatics pipeline development to understand how Ascochyta species cause blight disease in lentil and chickpea, two crops of major economic importance to Australian grain growers. I maintain the Centre's nanopore sequencing and analysis infrastructure, and develop the computational approaches underpinning genome assembly, annotation, and population-scale comparison of pathogen isolates.
