I am a global leader in successful initiatives for the treatment of early stuttering disorders. I am internationally recognized for my effective treatments of the psychosocial impact of stuttering in adults and have been acknowledged and rewarded as the most outstanding clinician in the world. I translate research into practice and have successfully treated over 10,000 individuals with stuttering disorders. I advise and determine standards for evidenced based stuttering treatments and training of speech pathologists in stuttering disorders around the world. I am a foundation member of the International Stuttering research team that has determined the genetic markers for stuttering. 1000 DNA samples from multi-generational families attending the Curtin Stuttering Treatment Clinic that I established 40 years ago have produced these genetic markers.
