BIOGRAPHY AND RESEARCH IMPACT
The focus of my research is on mental health among adolescents and young adults. My primary interests are in the social and cognitive factors that initiate and maintain non-suicidal self-injury (NSSI). I also have a strong interest in the 'experience of self-injury' with a focus on topics such as stigma, disclosure, scarring, and 'recovery'. I take a person-centred view to better understand self-injury and advocate for individuals with lived experience.
