BIOGRAPHY AND RESEARCH IMPACT
Bringing a PhD in biophilic design and extensive experience in sustainable built environments, environmental science, policy development, and stakeholder engagement, I have successfully achieved positive outcomes through the policies and frameworks I have developed. A sought-after speaker, I have presented keynotes at global conferences on integrating nature and the built environment through biophilic design. With well-developed communication skills, I am highly experienced in publishing academic papers, including a recent paper on policy and planning, contributing to expert panels, developing productive stakeholder relationships, and collaborating on numerous projects.
Recently completed writing the guidance for implementation of the Federal Governments Net Zero Strategy for the Dpt. of Finance Net Zero team.
My collaboration with the City of Bayswater on an Environment and Liveability Framework, with the Green Council of Australia on revising their Green Star rating, and with RMIT on the URBAN GreenUP project further showcase my expertise. At Oxford University, I deliver a short course on transitioning businesses to Net Zero while still retaining profitability plus a bespoke course for UKRI. I also lecture at Curtin University on sustainability topics, including currently in ‘Future Cities’, and previously in 'Decarbonising Cities and Regions' and 'Urban Design for Sustainability'.Supervise masters dissertation students. My PhD research and academic papers in biophilic design and Graduate Certificate of Sustainability and Climate Policy demonstrate my understanding of sustainable practices and policy development. At the Curtin University Sustainability Policy Institute, I have led the development of research proposals, sourced funding opportunities, and collaborated with industry, government, and academia. This experience has further enhanced my ability to lead, collaborate, think critically, and analyse complex
