I am a 2nd Year PhD scholarship student at Curtin University. My research explores how culturally diverse poetry and fiction can bridge gaps in shared perspectives within literature for Young Adults. It responds to the growing cultural diversity of student populations and the pressing need for greater representation and #Own Voices in YA writing. Using a Practice-Led Research, Research-Led Practice methodology, and employing textual analysis, the project will fill gaps by creating a work that melds fiction and poetry and narrates from culturally diverse characters’ perspectives.
