BIOGRAPHY AND RESEARCH IMPACT
Dr Karl Davidson leads the Photon Forge Additive Manufacturing Facility (PFAM) at the John de Laeter Centre. He has more than 10 years of experience in metal additive manufacturing technologies, bringing expertise in the form of machine operation, laboratory management, alloy development and characterisation for a range of alloy systems and additive manufacturing processes. His research interests lie in the manipulation of microstructures in metals processed by additive manufacturing to improve mechanical and corrosion properties and, in the high value manufacturing of parts from recycled/waste metals.
