Dr Patrick Broman is Manager, National Student Equity Evaluation at the Australian Centre for Student Equity and Success (on leave from the New Zealand Ministry of Education, where he is a Lead Adviser). He holds adjunct research fellowships in the School of Health Sciences at Swinburne University of Technology (Melbourne) and at the Centre for Health and Social Practice at Waikato Institute of Technology (Hamilton, New Zealand), and formerly worked in the Centre for Just Places at Jesuit Social Services, Melbourne. 

Dr Broman holds degrees in demography and sociology from the University of Waikato (Hamilton, New Zealand) and applies strong quantitative and statistical modelling skills to his research and evaluation practice, much of which has involved regional disparities, especially in education; innovations in health professional training; and the classification and counting of ethnic groups.
