BIOGRAPHY AND RESEARCH IMPACT

Viet‑Cuong (Cuong) completed a Ph.D. in Environment and Agriculture at Curtin University’s Centre for Crop and Disease Management (CCDM) in Perth, Australia. He currently serves as an Academic Editor for New Disease Reports (British Society for Plant Pathology), Archives of Phytopathology and Plant Protection, and Journal of Sustainable Agriculture and Environment. He is also a Senior Editor (Disease Notes) for Australasian Plant Pathology.
His expertise spans plant pathology, microbiome ecology, and biological control, with a focus on diagnosing emerging plant pathogens, characterizing pathogen diversity and biosecurity risks, and developing sustainable disease‑control strategies using antagonistic microorganisms and microbiome‑based approaches. Driven by a commitment to sustainable agriculture, he works to advance microbial solutions that enhance plant/soil health and reduce yield losses caused by plant diseases.
