BIOGRAPHY AND RESEARCH IMPACT

Srimali Gunasekara received her B.Sc. (Honours) degree in Mathematics from the University of Peradeniya, Sri Lanka, in 2021. She worked as a full-time Teaching Assistant at the University of Peradeniya, where she taught mathematics and optimisation-related subjects. She is currently a PhD candidate, Sessional Academic, and Invigilator in the School of Electrical Engineering, Computing and Mathematical Sciences at Curtin University. Her doctoral research is conducted through the ARC Training Centre for Transforming Maintenance through Data Science. Her research interests include operations research, stochastic optimisation, maintenance scheduling, and decision-making under uncertainty. In particular, her research develops exact and heuristic solution methods for shutdown maintenance planning under decision-dependent failure uncertainty. She also has experience teaching calculus, linear algebra, introductory mathematics, and operations research at the university level.
