BIOGRAPHY AND RESEARCH IMPACT
Mohammad Shakir recently promoted to a Research Associate position from Research Assistant role at WASM: MECE Curtin University, Perth, Western Australia. He has completed his Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Chemical engineering from Curtin University, Australia and Indian Institute of Technology (ISM), Dhanbad. His research is based on heterogeneous catalysis for the mitigation of greenhouse gases (CO2) to renewable fossil fuels (syngas).
During his PhD, He has developed a novel single-step catalyst preparation method that solves a long-standing industrial catalyst deactivation problem for reforming reactions. (https://doi.org/10.1016/j.fuel.2022.123950) and (https://doi.org/10.1021/acsanm.2c02213)
Before that he has completed a Master's (M-Tech) degree in Chemical Engineering from IIT (ISM) Dhanbad, India. He also got a B.Tech degree in Chemical Engineering from Calcutta Institute of Technology, West Bengal, India.
Research area
1. Developing catalysts synthesis process
2. Heterogeneous catalysts
3. Reforming reactions
4. CO2 utilisations
5. Methanol synthesis
International Achievements
