BIOGRAPHY AND RESEARCH IMPACT

Paolo Raiteri graduated with a PhD in Materials Science from the University of Milano-Bicocca and subsequently moved to ETH Zurich, where he worked for five years as a research assistant in Professor Parrinello's group, honing his skills in molecular dynamics and free energy methods. In 2008 he moved to Australia to join Curtin University as a research fellow. He then secured two further research fellowships from the Australian Research Council, which allowed him to continue exploring his interests in computational materials science. Paolo is currently Full Professor of Computational Chemistry, and his research focuses on the development and application of computational methods to a variety of materials science problems, ranging from the elastic properties of composite materials to the properties of metal-organic complexes, and including the understanding of crystallisation and electrolyte solutions
