As Project Coordinator, Learning and Teaching within the Science and Engineering Academic Development Team at Curtin University, Malar leads strategic initiatives in curriculum design and quality assurance across the Faculty of Science and Engineering. She supports academic staff in curriculum design, coordinates quality assurance processes across multiple programmes, advises and mentors staff on assessment integrity, and evidence-informed pedagogical approaches. Her leadership has grown through course review processes, accreditation preparation, and alignment with institutional and regulatory frameworks.
Previously, Malar held academic leadership roles as Senior Curriculum Advisor and Associate Dean, Learning and Teaching at the Western Australian School of Mines (WASM), and as Dean of the Learning Centre and Senior Lecturer at Curtin Malaysia, where she advanced staff development, transnational teaching quality, and cross-cultural leadership in education. She is a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (SFHEA), a member of HERDSA.
