Una Donnelly is an Associate Lecturer in Professional Experience, Sociology and English at Curtin University's School of Education. Prior to this position, Una worked as a sessional academic at Curtin in the faculties of Science and Engineering and Health Sciences in co-taught units on professional and intercultural communication. Una moved into the tertiary sector after a decade as a Secondary English teacher in metropolitan and regional schools in Western Australia and now educates and supports preservice teachers. 

As a Doctoral candidate, Una's research interests include culturally responsive pedagogies for teaching Aboriginal texts in Western Australian Secondary English classrooms. She has taught in the On Country Teacher Education Program at Curtin and her pedagogical philosophy is underpinned by principles of inclusivity, student agency and the cultivation of critical and creative thinking. She has a particular interest in addressing the educational needs of students from Indigenous, low socioeconomic, and regional and remote backgrounds. Una has taught a number of units on diversity, equity and inclusion and is a strong advocate for the wellbeing and engagement of graduate teachers.
