BIOGRAPHY AND RESEARCH IMPACT
Dr Nardia-Rose Klem is a Senior Lecturer and Senior Research Fellow in Physiotherapy at Curtin University and an experienced musculoskeletal physiotherapist. She holds a PhD and a Master of Clinical Physiotherapy in Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy and continues to work clinically in advanced-scope emergency and musculoskeletal physiotherapy roles within the public health system.
Nardia’s research focuses on improving care for people living with musculoskeletal pain, particularly young people experiencing persistent pain alongside mental health challenges. Her work uses qualitative, mixed-methods and co-design approaches to better understand people’s experiences of pain and healthcare and to develop practical, person-centred resources and models of care. Her broader research interests include cognitive functional therapy, low back pain, clinical practice guidelines and the implementation of evidence-based care.
Nardia is passionate about connecting research, education and clinical practice. She teaches across musculoskeletal physiotherapy and supervises Honours, Masters and PhD research students. Through her combined academic and clinical roles, she aims to support the development of thoughtful, evidence-informed clinicians and improve the relevance and quality of care provided to people with musculoskeletal pain.
