BIOGRAPHY AND RESEARCH IMPACT

Ashraf works at the intersection of climate science and geospatial intelligence to support better decision‑making in a warming world.

His work focuses on how climate change affects cities and communities, particularly through extreme heat, flooding, sea‑level rise, and environmental health risks. Ashraf uses satellite data, climate models, and geospatial analytics to transform complex Earth‑system information into practical knowledge for policy, planning, and action.

Based at Curtin University since 2010, Ashraf has built an internationally recognised research program with strong policy relevance and real‑world impact, particularly across the Indo‑Pacific and climate‑vulnerable regions of the Global South.
