BIOGRAPHY AND RESEARCH IMPACT

As Research Fellow (Human Learning) in the Faculty of Humanities, I am contributing to building an evidence base for innovative pedagogies and curriculum initiatives, with a focus on the use of generative AI in higher education teaching and learning.

I was Chief Investigator on an Australian Research Council (ARC) funded Discovery Project (DP190100190) and co-author of School Autonomy Reform and Social Justice in Australian Public Education (2025, Routledge).

I have co-edited and contributed to two editions of Powers of Curriculum: Sociological Aspects of Education (2017 & 2022, Oxford University Press), a research-led and highly-commended textbook. I also co-authored Teaching: Dilemmas, Challenges and Opportunities (6th Edition, Cengage).

I co-convene the Education Policy Futures forum, led by Dr. Andrew Wilkins (University of London). EPF is a non-affiliated, independent, global forum dedicated to fostering knowledge exchange and collaboration among educators and researchers interested in education and policy futures.
